Dr. Kalra, an interventional cardiologist and the founder of the non-profit startup, makeadent.org, boasts an impressive array of roles and accomplishments in the field of cardiology. As the primary investigator at the Krannert Cardiovascular Research Center and an adjunct clinical associate professor of medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine, he brings expertise and leadership to cardiovascular research and education.  Dr. Kalra serves as the director of the Barry J. Maron Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Center in New Delhi, India, demonstrating his commitment to advancing specialized cardiac care.

 

Additionally, he hosts the acclaimed cardiology podcast show, Parallax, recognized for its excellence in disseminating cutting-edge cardiovascular knowledge. With a wealth of experience, Dr. Kalra has presented groundbreaking research at national and international scientific cardiovascular meetings and authored over 300 scientific manuscripts in esteemed peer-reviewed journals. His extensive medical and cardiology training, including stints at prestigious institutions such as the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Cooper University Hospital, and Harvard Medical School, underscores his dedication to excellence in patient care and academic pursuits. Dr. Kalra’s advanced training in interventional and structural cardiology at renowned centers like Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Houston Methodist DeBakey Heart and Vascular Center further solidifies his expertise in complex cardiac interventions.

Dr. Kalra holds board certifications in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, and Interventional Cardiology from the American Board of Internal Medicine, showcasing his expertise and dedication to providing high-quality patient care. Additionally, he is a Diplomate in Adult Comprehensive Echocardiography from the National Board of Echocardiography, further attesting to his proficiency in cardiovascular imaging. Dr. Kalra has also pursued additional certifications in patient safety, healthcare quality, health informatics, and leadership through Harvard Medical School’s esteemed 1-year Safety, Quality, Informatics, and Leadership certification program.
